Justine F. Khadduri, PhD 
Director 

Justine joined the Washington College community during summer of 2022. She earned her BA in Government and Secondary Education from Franklin and Marshall College, MA in Educational Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University, and PhD in Educational Leadership (with a concentration in Educational History and Philosophy) from Notre Dame of Maryland University. Justine has worked in a variety of capacities in education over the past twenty years including serving as Academic Dean, Middle and High School History Teacher, and Adjunct Professor.

Maria Hackett
Disability Access Specialist

A Brooklyn native, Maria recently relocated to Chestertown, MD to serve as Washington College's new Disability Access Specialist. Prior to joining the Washington College community, Maria worked with Yale University's Student Accessibility Service to ensure that students have their needs met during their time at Yale University, as well as having the necessary support for their success. An ardent lover of engaging Black diasporic literature, learning new languages, and pursuing ministry leadership, Maria is proud of her academic roots, having earned a MA in Religion from Yale Divinity School and BA in Russian from the University of Rochester. Ask her about her co-conspirator (aka cat), Fig, and Caribbean heritage!

Joey Velez
Academic Resource Coordinator

A Kent Island native, Joey attended Towson university while working as an archery instructor for local Girl Scout and Boy scout troops. Between terms, he worked in summer camps both in and out of state as a residential counselor, instructor, and Section-Head. After receiving his BS in History, he began coaching another passion of his, MMA. He spent this past summer as the Wilderness Director for Forest Lake Camp in upstate New York. Joey has also been a writer ever since he wrote his first poem at the age of three and hopes to publish the first of four novels before the end of term. Ask him about Dungeons and Dragons!!
